Brevard County Prison Wives

This is for my locals who have men and woman incarcerated.  Currently there are 2 thousand 9 hundred and fifty (2,950)  adult men and women who were sentenced in Brevard County who are locked up in the Florida Dept of Corrections.  Just imagine how many families have been affected. Those people are someone’s child. Someone’s mom or dad, brother or sister, aunt and uncle or even grandma or grandpa. So that means alot of people are affected by either someone’s decision to do wrong or that got caught up in something that landed them in their current situation.

So for the families of those individuals I know that its not always easy to maintain. So with that said i wanted to compile a list of resources that may be of help to you.

For those that have loved ones that haven’t been sentenced yet:

efacts – this is where you can go to look up court dates and anything related to the case
Brevard County Detention Center – or better known as Sharpes. This will provide you with information about the jail as far as the address and phone number and a host of other vital information
FAQ or frequently asked questions. This provides you with additional information that may not be found at first look on the site.
Public Defender’s Office – this is where you can find more information for your self or loved one when it comes to what to expect when comes to court. You can always contact the Public Defender in your loved one’s case by calling the number. Sometimes you have to speak to an assistant that can pass the message as well.
State attorney’s office is if you are needing to find out more information that the Public Defender can’t provide .
An important resource that you may hear about on the phone is ICARE This is where you can order packages for your loved one. They sometimes have inexpensive ones but it can get a little pricey.
Speaking of phone service If you can try to set up a phone account with GTL you can put money on your house or cell phone so you can recieve a phone call.
Visitation – this is where you find information about visitation at the facility

Please check out the Resources page for further resources you may need such as housing, clothing and food
